How to Find the Right Face Oil For You

Like any other skincare item, choosing what oil to use depends on the person. For some, it’s a type of antioxidant filled hydrating oil. For others, it’s a quick absorbing dry oil. The best approach is to start with choosing an oil that you love and works for your particular skin-type. And, once you find the right face oil, you're good to go.

Almost all face oils work similarly to help protect, balance, and moisturize skin. Instead of making you research which oil is best for your skin-type, we’ve compiled our top three favorite face oils. Each oil provides your skin with the hydration and nourishment it needs.

Here are a few tips on selecting the perfect face oil for you:

Olive oil:

Olive oil is a personal favorite of ours. Olive oil has been used on the skin for centuries. For example, the iconic actress Sophia Loren uses olive oil on her skin and in the bath. And, she’s not alone, it is said Cleopatra also used olive oil as a hair treatment.

So why is it so effective? Well, the skin benefits of Olive oil are endless. Extra virgin olive oil contains vitamins A and E, its properties help penetrate deeply into the skin to moisturize and protect. Using Olive oil on the skin will leave it feeling smoother and hydrated.

  • Skin- type: Olive oil is suitable for all skin types.

Argan Oil:

Argan oil contains a ton of beneficial ingredients like essential fatty acids, ferulic acid, antioxidants, and vitamin E. As the name implies, argan oil is extracted from nuts of the argan tree in Morocco. Using argan oil will help seal, nourish, and moisturize the skin, eliminating dryness. Argan oil is great for those that are looking for simplicity without oily residue. It’s great for everyday use.

  • Skin-type: Argan oil is suitable for all skin types.

Rosehip Seed Oil:

Rosehip seed oil is packed with beneficial ingredients (rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and more!) It is also a dry oil, which means it quickly absorbs in the skin and leaves no oil residue. Rosehip seed oil is a great choice for all skin types, but it is also great for those who have oily skin and sensitive skin.

  • Skin-type: Rosehip seed oil is suitable for all skins types and sensitive skin.

It’s clear picking any one of these oils will be perfect to achieving hydrated skin. You can even combine a blend of the oils (more details below!) that will nourish the skin and boost hydration. After all, keeping skin hydrated is the key.
